HOT ZONE
Thermal insulation : Inner most layer is of hard board graphite backed by flexible graphite felt.
Heating system : Unique design made from graphite plates all round and along the depth. This covers more surface area (as against tubes / rod type heaters) and ensures more uniform temp. Distribution in work space.
VACUUM
Ultimate vacuum 1.5 x 10-2 MBAR
Typical operating vacuum : 3-5x 10-2 MBAR
Pump down time from atmospheric pressure : 10 -2 mbar range in 15 min.
CONVECTIVE HEATING
System : A separate cc fan mounted on front door for uniform heating under nitrogen gas pressure up to 2 bar. This ensures better heat transfer during heating in lower temp. Range up to 800 deg .C Tempering cycle also with convective heating.
QUENCHING
System : cylindrical heating with all round nozzles. Front insulation on door also provided with nozzles which can be opened and closed for convective heating and quenching.
Gas circulation and cooling : high capacity water cooled recirculation fan motor with VFD and high water flow finned heat exchanger for rapid gas quenching.
Quenching pressure : 10 bar abs. Nitrogen.
ISO quench : controlled cooling by monitoring surface and core temperature and varying fan motor speed, gas pressure and switching on / off heating.
HOST MANAGEMENT
System : computerized process monitoring and recording of complete cycle and batch reports. Remote monitoring and diagnostics from Germany.

10 Set / actual value: Actual value of the furnace temperature to control the heaters is measured by the control thermocouple. The temp. of the load is additionally compared with the set value. The set value is in a programmed range of temperature. The programmed soaking time is hold till the furnace temp. reaches this programmed range of temp. Through this set / actual value comparison soaking or holding times are controlled exactly. This makes sure that soaking / holding times are executed as programmed.
11 ISO Quench: The temp. of surface and core of work piece / dummy charge is measured by two flexible thermocouples. The difference between these temps. is monitored and controlled by varying speed of quench fan motor through frequency converter. If required during quenching cycle, heating will also be switched `ON'. The isotherm quenching is favorably applied for big work pieces and work pieces with extreme cross section difference and complicated shapes to prevent cracks and to minimize distortion.
12 Regulation and control system Touch panel with computer for operating and programming of vacuum furnace is provided. User friendly Programming of Heat Treatment cycles including quenching speeds / ISO quench, etc. Excellent process visualization screens. Computerized data logging batch report
